The speech of Mr. Tahir Muhedini, president of the Party for Justice and European Integration, in the Albanian-Greek boundary with Çamëria, in memory of 62 anniversary of Greek genocide against the undefended and innocent population of Cams

Honorable representatives of local and international Mass Medias,
In the name of the Party for Justice and European Integration (Partia për Drejtësi dhe Integrim, PDI), firstly I would like to thank you for your presence here together with us in commemorating the innocent Albanian Cams victims of Greek Chauvinists genocide against undefended population.
I would like to say also, that PDI as part of organization of this marching and politic action there is dedicated inn, only by its European integration philosophy. Certainly, we are here to commemorate the Greek genocide against the undefended Albanian population of Çamis, but in nowadays we have not to do with the same Greek Government or other institutions that represented that difficult era, whilst we have relation with a fully state member of European Union related also to fully obligations and rights, and where Albania inspire to be fully part.
PDI, in difference with other institutions, believes that the rights of Çamis population cannot be solved only with bilateral relation between Albania and Greece, or between the institutions that represent population of Çamis and Greek Government, but only with the support of EU and USA, so with the international intermediation.
We do believe that just by this way, it must arrive to a democratic and right solution and to the adequate respecting to the basic rights of Albanian Çamis population, which have to be treated by the International Standards of Ethnic Minorities.

Very recently the Albanian public opinion got known that the Greek government had programmed carefully about its martyrs of the Italo-Greek War (28 October 1940 - 6 April 1941) which in fact there was developed in Albanian territories.
Suddenly, the Albanians got known that in Kelcyra there was build already a big common grave of Greek solders, which have been killed by the above mentioned war. In the mean time, it is supposed also to build some other graves with the same purposes into the Albanian territories, although Albania is related with that historic event, only by the fact that it was occupied by fascist Italia.
In the other side, the present president of Greece, Karolios Papulias, during 1985 year time in which he was Greek Foreign minister, visited the city of Kelcyra and has set flowers into the graves of his Greek country martyrs.
In fact, the Albanian Çamis population would like to do the same thing, so to have the possibility to set flowers into to the graves of their forerunner, who were the victims of Greek chauvinist at the meant time.
Last year, the Greek president, Mr.Papulias repealed an appointment with the Albanian President Mr. Moisiu in Albanian city of Saranda, because he has allowed a group of Çamis to demonstrate democratically and who wanted to welcome in a democratic mood the their origin state’s President.
In the mean time, His Excellence Mr. Anastasious Janulatous, who surely not as the Head of the Albanian Autocephaly Orthodox Church, served the religious mass into Kelcyra’s Church in respecting the Greek solders which died during the Second World War, has to reflect absolutely positively towards the demands and the negated rights of the Albanian Çamis population and to contribute for a democratic solution in this regards.
PDI, underlining the matter of fact that most of us, me personally, have the ours forerunners graves in Çamëria (Greece) and reminding that we have different decades we have not visited and settled flowers in the respect of them, however and after different severely debates of the party’s presidency, concluded that we had to accept the cemetery of Greek solders in Albania, but demanding at the same time by the Greek and Albanian Government to make the possible trying to achieve such our political emancipation.
So, it is needed to give the Çamis minirity the democratic solution and thei right for bi-citizenship and also the right of own properties, which are inalienable ones. If this happens, we and other Çamis, like Mr. Populias and the other Greek and European citizens, will have the possibility to commemorate our forerunner with flowers on their own graves in Greece.
If all the involving parties will see this issue by this kind of European Integration view, all our and their forerunners will rest quietly in their own graves and afterwards all of us will have more permanent stability in Balkans.
